Gearin' Up for Upcoming Race!
The 2018 Balsam Lake Snowshoe Race is less than a month away! We've been busy gathering donations and door prizes, planning, and preparing for this fun, 7th annual 5K trail race on Saturday, February 10!
We have some exciting news for this year's event: Northern Lites has generously donated a pair of its renowned, ultra-lite snowshoes as an event door prize! For 25 years, Northern Lites has been making the World’s Premier brand of snowshoes. At one-half the weight of other aluminum frame or plastic snowshoes, these shoes are incredibly light and easy to use. The current US National and World champions run on these snowshoes, and it’s primarily because they are so light and durable. For more information about Northern Lites, click here.
In addition to the pair of famously light snowshoes donation, the beautifully embroidered hats by Basically Balsam are ready for each event participant! Basically Balsam is a family owned and operated business in Balsam Lake, WI providing the highest quality clothing, merchandise, and customer service. We are also excited to share pottery by local artist Sarah Dudgeon, of Dudgeon Pottery, with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in both the women's and men's division. Sarah's work is earthy, rustic, and eclectic. Each piece is made for everyday use, or for those special occasions that bring friends and families together to gather at the table.
